Seth & Lucy Bnei Mitzvah
I had the pleasure of photographing Seth and Lucy's Bnei Mitzvah on a sunny spring day on Saturday, May 7, 2022. We arrived at Congregation Habonim in North York early in the morning to take photos of the family. Everyone looked very sharp in their Mitzvah outfits, and the excitement of the day was palpable.
We began with mini-sessions around the shul with Seth and Lucy. Both kids did a great job posing for the camera, and we had lots of fun moments. Next, I took photos of the kids with their parents inside the shul. The love, warmth, and special family humour could be felt in every shot.
After the family photos, we moved into the main sanctuary for the service. It was a moving ceremony led by Cantor Aviva Rajsky and Rabbi Ilyse Glickman. Seth and Lucy did an excellent job reading from the Torah, and it was clear that they had worked hard to prepare for their special day. They made their parents and grandparents so proud, and it was an honor to capture this milestone on camera.
Following the service, we headed to Terroni in Summerhill for lunch. The atmosphere was intimate and celebratory, and the food was delicious. Family and friends schmoozed, ate, and made heartfelt speeches. It was clear that Seth and Lucy were loved and cherished by everyone around them. The musical performance by Seth and Lucy's parents was a highlight of the day, and it had everyone in stitches. The speeches concluded with a moving slideshow of Seth and Lucy growing up. Seeing the pride and joy on the faces of everyone in the room was truly touching.

Over the course of the lunch, I photographed the speeches, slideshow, hora, Bar Mitzvah cake, and shots of family and friends. It was a simcha filled with love, joy, and cherished memories.
The service was followed by a scrumptious lunch, including waffles, smoked salmon latkes, and yoghurt with fresh berries. Of course, I made sure to capture lots of detail shots of the food.
