Rafi's Bar Mitzvah
Photographing Rafi Herman's Bar Mitzvah was a truly memorable experience. The family arrived at The Boulevard Room looking very sharp on a cold Saturday afternoon on February 11, 2023.
I started out doing a mini-session with Rafi. He looked so handsome in his navy blue suit. We walked around outdoors, capturing some amazing shots in doorways, against walls, and in front of garage doors. Then I worked with Ezra, Rafi’s older brother. He could easily be a model! A few years ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Ezra for his Bar Mitzvah. Working with him again brought back special memories of his intimate Covid simcha. I then took some shots of the brothers together. I loved capturing their playful interaction.
After working with the boys, it was time for immediate family photos. It was evident how proud Rafi's parents were of him. We captured some beautiful moments of Rafi with his parents and older brother that they will cherish forever.
When the extended family arrived, we moved inside to the beautifully decorated Boulevard Room for photos. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins were so excited to take shots with the Bar Mitzvah boy.
Next was the service led by Moshe Saadon. Rafi did a fantastic job reading his Torah portion, making his family so proud. We then dimmed the lights for a beautiful Havdallah service.
The energy in the room quickly escalated as Magen Boys and drummer J Stixx got the party started with a lively hora. Music and drumming filled the air as everyone joined hands and danced around the room. I loved capturing all the smiles and laughter through my lens.
Following the hora, guests schmoozed, took photos at the photobooth, and enjoyed a delicious Israeli buffet-style dinner. Heartfelt speeches throughout the evening added an emotional touch to the Bar Mitzvah, and it was clear how much love and support Rafi had from his family and friends.
Rafi danced the night away. Magen Boys and J Stixx – you rocked!
What an incredible evening filled with love, happiness, and unforgettable memories. Mazal Tov, Rafi and family! Thank you for allowing me to capture your special simcha.
